Hello Imagine students and families,

As we begin planning for Imagine’s transition to a Grade 6–12 school in September 2027, we want to make sure this work is thoughtful and includes voices from across our school community. Below is some information about the Imagine 6–12 Transition Advisory Committee, including the purpose of the committee and the meeting dates.

We are looking for a parent representative to join the committee. If you are interested, please email our PAC at iss-pac@sd33.bc.ca.

We will also be looking for a student representative from Imagine. Students who are interested should connect with Ms. Haller or Ms. Parsons.

Imagine High Grades 6–12 Transition Advisory Committee

Imagine High will become a Grades 6–12 school in September 2027. As we prepare for this change, we want students, families, staff, and school communities to have a meaningful voice in how the transition takes shape.

The Imagine 6–12 Transition Advisory Committee will meet four times during the 2026–27 school year. The committee will not revisit the decision to become a Grades 6–12 school. Instead, its role is to help us think carefully about how we make the transition well and how we create a strong experience for both younger and older students.

Committee Meeting Dates

  • September 29, 2026, 3:30–4:30 PM

  • November 17, 2026, 3:30–4:30 PM

  • February 2, 2027, 3:30–4:30 PM

  • April 13, 2027, 3:30–4:30 PM

Who Will Be Involved?

The committee will include school principals, students where appropriate, parent representatives selected through each school’s PAC, teacher representatives, and district staff or guests when their expertise is helpful.

Members will help bring forward questions and feedback from the groups they represent and share information back with their communities.

What Will the Committee Focus On?

The committee’s work will centre around a few key themes:

  • Sharing Imagine’s identity and approach to learning, including Integrated Arts and Technology, deeper learning, experiential learning, student voice, authentic work, and community connections

  • Designing a strong Grades 6–8 experience that reflects the developmental needs of younger learners while still feeling connected to the broader Imagine community

  • Belonging, relationships, and student support, including how students can feel known, connected, supported, and confident during the transition

  • Learning structures and opportunities, including integrated learning, foundational skills, arts, technology, exploration, outdoor learning, student choice, and opportunities for students across grades to learn and lead together

  • Spaces, routines, and school operations, including how spaces are shared, movement through the school, supervision, lunch, transportation, and other practical considerations

  • Orientation and transition supports for students and families before September 2027

  • Communication and ongoing feedback, so students, families, and staff understand what is being planned and have opportunities to contribute along the way
